How do I resolve sharing issues with Shipping Events shared to customers via EDI/ASN?

Overview

When Trace Exchange is unable to successfully share Shipping Event data with your customer—or when a downstream trading partner returns an error or warning—the shipment will display a Failed or Warning status in the Shipping list. A status of Failed indicates that the ASN (Advance Ship Notice) was not accepted as expected and requires correction and resubmission.

Identifying the Issue

1. Navigate to Trace Exchange → Shipping.
2. Locate the shipment with a Failed or Warning
   
3. Click on the Status bar to view detailed error and/or warning messages returned by the customer or EDI network.

 Correcting a Failed Shipment

If the shipment status is Failed, follow these steps to correct and resubmit it:

1. In the Shipping list, click the ellipsis (⋯) menu for the affected shipment.
2. Select Edit as shown below:
   
3. Update the shipment details to correct the error(s) identified in the status message.
4. Save your changes.
5. Select Update Shipment & Resubmit ASN to resend the corrected ASN to your customer as shown below:
   

Handling Warning Statuses

Shipments marked with a Warning status were successfully transmitted but include advisory messages from the customer. While warnings do not always require correction, it is recommended that you:

• Review the warning details carefully.
• Correct the shipment data in future shipments and ASN’s if the warning indicates a potential compliance or future rejection risk.
